University English Programme

Our University English Programme supports EFL learners studying their A-Levels but do not have the required English level for university entry.

The curriculum will support our EFL learners to take their IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Test.

IELTS is an international standardised test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers. It is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP and Cambridge English.

Students who are studying A Level but do not yet have at least IELTS level 6.5 are strongly recommended to take University English Programme classes, which are delivered by our EFL teachers.

Students on our UEP Programme will receive 6 x 45 minute (Year 12s) or 7 x 45 minute (Year 13s) lessons per week with specialist teachers, alongside 3 hours of dedicated prep a week.

For further information please don’t hesitate to contact admissions@padworth.com.

Entry Requirements

Age: 16+, Years 12 and 13

Minimum English Language Level: IELTS 4.5

Fees

The University English Programme will be charged at £850 per term.

Once students have reached IELTS 6.5 they will no longer be expected to attend the University English Programme.

Assessment

Padworth College will arrange for students to attend IELTS exams once a term, once students are judged to be in a good position to be able to get 6.5. If students wish to take the exam earlier than the college deems them ready, they may do so at their own cost. Testing will be completed at a UKVI testing centre to ensure that the test can be used for visa purposes.
